Our Mission
Nepal has always had a deep connection with the land. For generations, our elders used what the mountains provided, weaving hemp for bags and carving bamboo for daily tools. But lately, cheap plastic has taken over our markets and ended up in our rivers. We started EcoMart because we wanted to go back to those better ways of making things.
We are a small team trying to keep plastic out of the Himalayas. We work directly with people in local villages who still know how to work with bamboo and hemp by hand. When you buy something here, the money goes straight back to those makers, helping them keep their craft alive. We believe that if we all choose things that can eventually go back into the earth without hurting it, we can keep our home beautiful for a long time. It’s about being thoughtful with what we bring into our lives.
